Complete parasite treatment kits for koi ponds up to 10,000 gallons.

Aqua Meds® Terminate + FlukeGuard Kits combine our proven Terminate™ formula with FlukeGuard™ to help control common external parasites in koi and goldfish ponds. Each kit is sized by pond volume so you can choose the combination that best matches your system, and every kit includes a free digital gram scale to make accurate dosing of FlukeGuard™ easy.

Available kit sizes

  • Up to 1,600 gallons – Terminate™ 16 oz + FlukeGuard™ 15 g
  • Up to 3,200 gallons – Terminate™ 32 oz + FlukeGuard™ 30 g
  • Up to 10,000 gallons – Terminate™ 128 oz + FlukeGuard™ 60 g

Each kit includes enough Terminate™ for one full 3-day course on the listed pond size, plus enough FlukeGuard™ for at least two complete fluke treatments on that same pond. Because of the way these kits are sized, many ponds will also have some FlukeGuard™ remaining after two full treatments, depending on the actual pond volume.

What these kits treat

  • External protozoan parasites such as costia, chilodonella, ich, and others (Terminate™)
  • Gill and skin flukes, and other fluke-type parasites (FlukeGuard™)

How to choose your kit

Select the kit that matches your approximate pond volume:

  • Up to 1,600 gallons: Ideal for smaller ponds and quarantine systems.
  • Up to 3,200 gallons: For medium-sized koi ponds and water gardens.
  • Up to 10,000 gallons: For larger systems and heavily stocked koi ponds.

If you are unsure of your exact pond volume, it is usually safer to choose the next larger kit size rather than under-treat.

What’s included

  • Terminate™ – one full 3-day course for ponds up to the kit’s labeled pond size
  • FlukeGuard™ – enough for at least two complete FlukeGuard™ treatments on the same pond
  • Free digital gram scale – helps you accurately measure FlukeGuard™ (and other powdered pond treatments) for your exact pond volume

When to use these kits

  • Spring start-up after a long winter, when parasites often resurge.
  • After adding new koi when proper quarantine was not possible.
  • When koi are flashing, piping, isolating, rubbing on the bottom or sides, or otherwise showing signs suggestive of parasite issues and you cannot scrape and scope.
  • As part of a planned “shotgun” treatment approach on ponds with a history of fluke problems.
  • FlukeGuard Kit Instructions

    Detailed Instructions (3-Day Protocol)

    Check water quality first.

Test and correct ammonia, nitrite, pH, and KH before treatment. Maintain KH/alkalinity at least 120 ppm whenever possible, especially with bead filters or heavily stocked ponds.

    Prepare your system.

    • Provide strong aeration with air stones, diffusers, or additional waterfalls.
    • Turn off UV sterilizers and remove carbon or chemical filter media before dosing.
    • Mechanical and biological filtration can continue to run.

    Day 1 – Terminate™ only.

    • Dose Terminate™ according to the label directions for your pond volume.
    • Distribute the dose around the pond in areas of good circulation (returns, waterfalls, high-flow zones).
    • Maintain strong aeration and monitor your koi closely throughout the day.

    Day 2 – Terminate™ only.

    • Repeat the same Terminate™ dose as Day 1 for your pond volume.
    • Again, distribute around the pond and maintain excellent aeration.
    • Do not add FlukeGuard™ on Day 2.

    Day 3 – Terminate™ and FlukeGuard™ together.

    • Measure the Day 3 Terminate™ dose for your pond volume.
    • In a clean container or bucket, add several gallons of pond water and the Day 3 Terminate™ dose.
    • Use the included digital gram scale to weigh the correct amount of FlukeGuard™ for your pond volume, following the FlukeGuard™ label directions.
    • Slowly add the FlukeGuard™ powder into the Terminate™/pond water mix while stirring or agitating.
    • Terminate™ helps wet and disperse the FlukeGuard™, making it easier to dissolve and spread evenly through the pond.
    • Once the mixture is well blended and suspended, distribute it around the pond in areas of good circulation.

    After Day 3.

    • Continue strong aeration and normal filtration (without carbon or chemical media) after Day 3.
    • Follow the Terminate™ and FlukeGuard™ labels regarding any recommended water changes after treatment.

    Follow-up FlukeGuard™ treatments.

    • In many situations, a second full FlukeGuard™ treatment is recommended after the appropriate interval to address any remaining flukes or newly hatched stages.
    • Follow-up treatments are usually done with FlukeGuard™ alone, according to its label directions for your pond volume.
    • Use the included gram scale to measure FlukeGuard™ accurately for each follow-up treatment.
    • These kits include enough FlukeGuard™ for at least two complete treatments on the labeled pond size. Some ponds will have enough product remaining for an additional smaller follow-up treatment, depending on the actual water volume.
  • FlukeGuard Kit Precautions
