Symptoms

One major problem with chilodonella is there are no visible signs present in the initial stages. By the time you see the symptoms of heavy breathing, “flashing” (rubbing against objects, the sides and bottom of your pond), poor appetite, clamped fins and lying on the bottom of your pond, your koi or pond fish are in big trouble. Chilodonella can cause severe gill damage. Plenty of aeration is recommended during and after an outbreak.
