Treatments
First action you would take to treat fin & tail rot would be a pond water change of 50% or more using a good water conditioner that will remove ammonia as well as chlorine from your tap water like Aqua Meds De-Tox Plus or our DeChlor & More. Next remove all "sludge" from your pond filter (do not clean your filter with tap water, the chlorine in your tap water will kill the "good bacteria" in your filter).
Next, treat with a good medicated fish food like Medi-Koi for 10 to 14 days. If you can catch your koi or pond fish, clean the fins with hydrogen peroxide on a cotton ball or Q-Tip, just once only.
Our Ulcer Aid Rx Kit will help cure bad cases of fin and tail rot or any other bacterial infection such as koi mouth rot and bacterial gill disease.
Note: The use of Aqua MedZyme in your pond will reduce the deadly Aeromonas, Pseudomonas in your pond water, plus, it will aid in the healing of the fish fin & tail rot.
